My MacBook Pro powered on with black screen and dont show anything

I have a MacBook Pro 13 Retina (Mid 2014) and the screen has gone off and never comes back on again. It happend after installed Ubuntu 18.04 and refit.

At end of install I observe diverse graphic errors and force power off the computer (holding power button for 5 sec).

If the computer keep closed it works on external display over HDMI but not on it’s own display.

Anyone can help me?

I try different method to try resolve this but none works.

Reset SMC

Reset PRAM

Reinstall OSX

Recovery from Internet

Boot arguments (-F, resolution, etc...)

Disconnect Battery

Disconnect Display Cable, then reset PRAM and SMC.

And none of these work, the laptop only works on external display. But if I try open the display nothing happens.

I don't know what's the problem but seems resolution parameters of the integrated display, Ubuntu installer must be change this on firmware (it's possible?)

UPDATE:

Today i try again and get a error code in this test.

The log indicates:

"StackShot REason : Sleep transition time out after 180 seconds while entering darkwake on way to sleep. Suspected bundle: com.apple.iokit.IOGraphicsFamily. Thread 0x74

Failure Code: 0xd44517be 00000031”

Also i see various errors say that

blocked by kernel mutex owed by UNKNOWN TASK thread 0xXXx \\example: 0x46c

the bootRom is 149.0.0.0.0 and SMC 2.16f68

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Do you have access to a second Mac? If you do see if you can leverage it as the boot drive via Target Disk Mode. Or setup a bootable USB Thumb drive and use it to boot up your system.

The goal here is to see if this is an OS issue or hardware.

Today i goes to Apple Store and the Genius try over network and it’s boot but the internal display never work. Only works in external display. If tries open lid the system it’s hang and need reboot pressed power button for 5 seconds.

If the external drive works with MacOS then you've proved the issue is software not hardware.

If thats not true: What was your source of the Ubuntu distro? I fear someone polluted it with malware! It likely damaged your EFI (BIOS)

I used official ubuntu iso (download of their web page) and make usb installer with unetbootin. It's possible restore efi from console?

The process was the following:

1st Download iso from https://www.ubuntu.com/

2nd Make usb installer with unetbootin

3rd Install refit

4th reboot with usb and select install option.

5th In process of patitioning im resize mac os partition and give about 60gb to a new ext4 partition. (the installer select sda for install grub)

6th after completed installation push enter for reset but give a error, in this moment i push power for 5 secs for reset.

7th i can login into ubuntu and update && upgrade

8th after reset the laptop to enter en mac os the system given display errors but enter in the OS .

9th about 5 minutes of use under OS X the system it's freeze and i saw grahics errors.

10 reset the laptop and internal display was black but the retroillumination works and the chaim sounds.

I saw this, thank you. But in this moment the problem is not in install Debian or Ubuntu, the laptop don't work neither is own OS.

I try repair it first, but it's complicated.

Thank You again.

Franz - This is just another way to reset the SMC How to reset the System Management Controller (SMC) on your Mac

In this case we got a clear crash report which implies the OS or the hardware its self has a problem. A SMC reset won't effect these types of errors.
