8, I and k keys not working, replaced keyboard and same problem, help?

So a couple of weeks ago I spilled a drink onto my latop, completely soaking it in parts. The screen went black with only a few strips of colour at the bottom. I took it completely apart and dried and cleaned it out and reassembled it. Everything works perfectly now except the 8, I and K keys. Thinking it was from the water damage I ordered a new one and replaced it today but the same keys don't work. I'm worried I damaged something removing the keyboard ribbon as the clamp holding it was extremely difficult to open. If that's the case what exactly do I need to replace to fix it?

There might be a problem with the ribbon connector on the motherboard, as you might’ve damaged that when you were pulling out the keyboard, so if you have a way to test this, I advise that you test it.

What methods can be used to test this?

The only real way to test this is by having a motherboard that worked from a different laptop of the same kind, which would require sautering to perform, and there might be a way to test it with a multimeter and checking the pins that those keys go to.

The top pictures seems to show a bit of corrosion by the ribbon cable. You can try using Q-tips moistened with isopropel alcohol to gently clean the corrosion off of the small components and traces. This may help with resolving the keyboard problem.
