Constant fan blank screen
Ill start from the beginning…
One morning i had the no symbol icon when I went to turn on my iMac. Ran the Apple Diagnostics and the only error I got was a sensor error for the SSD from OWC.
I sent them back the drive. I put in the original drive and worked fine and no more error. They sent me a replacement. While I had the iMac open i decided to go one step further and take out the logic board and clean the CPU (Applying some fresh arctic thermal paste) and heatsink and fans.
All this I have done once before when I put the SSD in. Since i was there I decided to change the CMOS battery with a new one just because it was there and they are cheap. I put everything back together and im confident I have every cable secure in there.
I tried to reset the PRAM /SMC but its still the constant fan on and blank screen. I am currently going to take it back apart and again very carefully go through everything step by step just to make sure…
Any ideas? Thanks
Is this a good question?
When its in this state do you see any glow from the backlight? What does an external display show you.

I currently have it apart again logic board out going over everything with a fine tooth comb. I believe it was as black as could be. I dont recall it being illuminated at all...maybe the lcd cable wasnt in tight although i do not believe that to be the case but maybe and hopefully....going to put back together again soon

It was hard to tell but i BELIEVE the problem was one or two of the pins on the CPU were bent. Was very subtle tried to straighten them out but didnt work. Bought a new logic board and now im stuck…has the folder with question mark icon that comes up. I booted to a Mojave installer and tried to just reload the OS and it says the firmware for the computer needs to be updated first. Any suggestions? thanks

Alright so I took apart the imac again removed the Airport card and reseated it just incase. Prior to all this I had no issue with the wifi. Ethernet appears to be working now. I installed bootcamp with Windows 10 and still no Wifi. Bluetooth works and arent they on the same card? Is that odd that bluetooth is working but wifi is not? I reinstalled Mountain Lion via USB installer since thats that it came with and installed some updates for that OS and still no wifi…Not sure if I spend the money on a new airport card or send the logic board back and try a different one? Can this airport card be updated to a wireless AC card?
