Need RAM Holder Replacement

Hey guys, I went into my Macbook Pro today in order to replace the battery and I noticed the the top Ram slot is not seating the RAM. It pops up and it took me some intricate maneuvering to get it to seat.

Does anyone know the part # or piece to replace this?

Your image shows the left latch (and I can’t tell but I think thats also true with the right side as well) has not be set. Carefully pull the black tab to the side slightly so the edge of the latch clears the module. Sometimes the latches go down instead of out as you press the modules down. Do make sure you’ve fully seated the module into the connector.

Thanks @danj I appreciate that. I think my case is a bit different. The tabs actually don’t snap anymore. So the issue is that the tabs don’t seem to be strong enough to snap the RAM in place.

I would love to just replace that part.

Sorry guy, just not possible ;-{

The clips are part of the connectors base. You would need to replace the entire connector which is just not possible.

I would still try to get the latches to grab. Maybe you need to help them a bit once you depress the Module into place slide them over. You might try an elastic band (a silicon version)

I found a solution which involves high temperature 3M Tape. I'll try that when it gets in.

Jamal Hartwell please post what solution you came up with as I have the same issue.

I solved the issue by attaching an elastic band around either side of the arms. seem to hold well thus far
