Thank you for your note remacberlin,

i appreciate your input.

I have ordered a couple new hard drives and will see what i can do to save the data.

I am still looking for someone with experience in pulling the disks out and placing them in new housings.

I know the data is still there , but i also know that the reader is not going to read it from this housing.

If you know of anyone else that may have some more input or if you have any other thoughts on this let me know

If what you have on there is really valuable, then you can try someplace like DriveSavers, they charge an arm and a leg, have a clean room, and will probably get your data.

You should never ever open a hard drive unless you're in a clean room and know what you're doing. One spec of dust inside can destroy everything. I doubt that seagate will do the job, there are specialized data rescue companys for a reason and they have their price.

You can hook it to a computer with an USB adapter and pray that it mounts, so you can rescue your data.

If you can't mount it or verify/repair it with DiskUtility, you should try DiskWarrior, it's worth the cash and if it doesn't work it's still worth to have, since it's a great tool that will save you one day when you need it. It's saved me a couple of times.

If none of this works you can at least try to salvage the data, use data rescue, which is a very good data recovery software I've used myself and managed to salvage several gigabytes worth of my files.
