Liquid damage. Could not turn on except with MagSafe.
Hi,
A few days ago, my water bottle had spilled some water inside my backpack. As soon as I have noticed, I turned off my computer right away. A few hours later, I thought that the water would all dry up, so I tried to turn it on but MacBook Pro would not turn on. I plugged MagSafe with my MBP and it suddenly switched on again. Everything was working fine except that it was running much slower and it said that I needed to replace the battery now. The battery would not charge and it was stuck at 83%.
I have run the hardware diagnostic test and it appears CODE (PPT006). The battery requires service
I decided to go to apple authorized repair service and they told me that it needed the liquid assessment and a repair which required me to pay more than $500. I thought that I could have replaced my own battery, so I decided to come back home. After done some research, I have found that there is a repair service offering free assessment. I let them check my laptop and they told me that it’s not the battery problem since it’s the motherboard problem.
I’m just wondering what is my real issue here. Is it the battery problem or is it the motherboard issue ?
How can I fix my laptop without paying $550? :(
Thank you in advance.
Is this a good question?
