Backlit keyboard has one ot two transparent plastic sheets?

I'm installing a backlit panel I bought in eBay behind my non-backlit keyboard for making it illuminated.

The problem is:

The backlit panel has a transparent plastic sheet with white dots in correspondence with the keys ot the keyboard for light diffusion.

My non-backlit keybord also has a transparent plastic sheet just behind the keys, without the white dots for light diffusion but looks almost the same otherwise.

In installing the backlit sheet, should I replace the original transparent sheet with the new one or retain it and install the backlit one just behind it?

I'd think I should replace, but some people seemed to suggest to retain even the former transparent sheet, look the sentence starting with ** in muhibmc reply in this solution:

Is backlit keyboard compatible with MacBook?!!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

You do not have to replace it, but you can if you want. I would recommend leaving the current sheet in place.

mmm....on which base you say that? I already made the job (had to re-assemble my Macbook for operating it...) and finally I went with replacing the clear sheet. Well actually you don't HAVE TO replace it, cause the backlit sheet fits even leaving the first one in place, but I think it's more correct to replace it.

That's why I was wondering whether the backlit models do have one or two clear plastic sheets. However after a deeper comparison of the parts, I think they should have the backlit only, since the second one seems redundant and the two parts looks exactly the same in size, shape and thickness except the backlit has the white dots. Also, I don't think Apple would have made the backlit sheet featuring the three little holes for alignment, if they were useless: if you mount both clear sheets one behind the other, the deeper one (farther from the back of the keyboard) can't be aligned using the holes, cause the corresponding metal spots behind the keyboards are too short to reach it. Still, I'm just supposing and I may be wrong...
