no lights when magsafe plugged in

Hello everybody. My name is Paolo, I from Italy.

I had a terrible problem. Is my fault. I was very stupid. Yesterday I forgot the power supply at home. To don’t drive so far I got a compatible magsafe (not made Apple). It was 60 Watt magsafe instead the own 85 watt . I just plugged in one time. No any kind of short circuit or any other shock. It didn’t work. Finally back at home, plug the original 85 watt magsafe and no lights (green or orange), no power on. It seems like dead. So, my hope is I have to change only the magsafe dc board. What do you think? Is the logic board still alive? Do I have to replace the logic board? Please help me!

Answer this question I have this problem too

First try an SMC reset: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295

If that doesn’t work, then yes I’d agree the DC board sounds like the most likely culprit, and replacing that should solve your issues.

Counterfeit MagSafe chargers are generally not a good idea.
