iPhone 7 plus ear speaker not working, auxiliary issues

Hello, a previous customer of mine who’s phone I fixed a couple months back is having issues with hearing people talk. I was going to replace her ear speaker but then she told me that she can’t play music with her aux cord.

I just now realized while typing this that she has a 7 plus so there is no headphone jack, obviously.

I figured I’d ask here if anyone has had a similar issue. I don’t want to go ahead and replace her ear speaker if there’s another problem going on.

Thanks!

Answer this question I have this problem too

Audio chip fault, you'll need to get it fixed by someone that does micro-soldering.

Symptoms include no recording device found in voice memos, greyed out speaker icon during calls. Not being able to hear others or others cant hear them.

I figured it could be audio IC but is that something that could happen out of nowhere?

Yep, audio IC can go bad by itself over time. It's a design defect on the iPhone 7 and 7 plus where the weak point of the logic board for flexing / bending over use is near the sim reader which sits right next to the audio chip.

Also the baseband chip which both can develop a bad connection to the board.
