I see image but the touchscreen wont respond, after replacement?

i have a feeling that the #2 tab was loose,and the glass comes of instead of the touch screen( i think the sticky pad lost its stickiness),

check you have the right part..the 3g and 3gs are not interchangeable and it may be why the tab is loose. the touch screen doesn't have to be in contact with the lcd to work, but you may like to purchase a precut adhesive strip to keep it all together-you'll have to remove all the old adhesive first.

try a hard reset..home and power button held together for 10 seconds, then release and allow to reboot.
