iPhone white screen after changing rear cover

Hi guys was just wondering if I could get some help. I changed my rear cover of my 3gs and everything went well. I installed everything back to normal and it worked perfectly. I heard a loose screw so i had to reopen the iphone. After this happened the screen turned white.

The phone turns on and connects to my itunes. The screen is all white, and the touch screen doesnt work. I tried the hard reset holding the home key and the lock but nothing happened. I even upgraded the phone to 4.3.3. Still nothing.

I checked the connectors for the digitizer and the prox sensor (with a working digi/prox), it doesnt seem to be the problem. Now I dont have a spare LCD so I have yet to check that.

Just want to get an idea what is going on, does this sound like a messed up connection on the logic board? or did i just screw up the LCD.

Anyone have anymore tips I can try?

Kevin

if you left the phone on whilst checking connections there is a chance that it is the LCD that is damaged. You need to turn the phone off and check the connections again, clean them and then reseat. You could also try the old screen if you have it.. even if there are damaged pixels etc it should work, then you'll know whether you need a new LCD or it is the connection that is the problem.

Thanks for the input! I did accidentally turn on the phone while maneuvering the to check for screws. I am still using the oem LCD, im hoping its just messed up and not the logic board.

Ive ordered a new LCD and will try to replace. I am worried as i figure if only the LCD is damaged, the digitizer should still work, i believe the prox sensor still works (called someone with voice dial)

touchscreen is connector 2, proxy is connector 3. did touchscreen work before replacement or you couldn't tell?

touchscreen worked before replacement, everything worked before I reopened it to find the loose screw.
