victor napoles. It would help if you give a bit more info, like what happened to it. Did it just stop working or did anything precede this My first suggested is that you double check your work when you replaced the clickwheel. Check the push button switches underneath the clickwheel and see if you can feel them engaged when you push them by hand. Check your connector, make sure that the little clasp that secures the cable is engaged. Check the connector itself, make sure there is not debris or corrosion present. The only other option would be to replace your logic board if none of the above work. Good Luck and let us know.

ok. i have two ipod videos. same exact model, 30gb. my first one, i was getting the sad face whenever i'd try to turn it on. i figured it out it was the hard drive. so m friend gave me his, which worked fine besides the click wheel. so i swapped over his hard drive onto my ipod, and it turned on everything worked, except the click wheel. after switching from his click wheel to my click wheel, it still didnt work. so recently i bought a click wheel from this site, came in yesterday and i put it on my logic board with his hard drive. it still didnt work. i made sure everything was aligned and the clasp was closed and the little ribbon cord on the side was making contact with the metal frame. so since it didnt work, i tried it with the other logic board, same results. i dont really know what to do, i havent touched it since. but i can REALLY use some help. thank you for reading!

So, it is your ipod with your friends hard drive. Did your click wheel work prior to replacing the hard drive? Just for testing purposes, replace the HDD with the one that came out of your ipod, (I know it has the sad face) and see if you can do a reset or get anything from your click wheel. If you would like to, I have a couple older, but working click wheels, that I can let you have for free if that should be the problem. But try first and see what you got.

And here's the guide to do so! It's a pretty simple fix. Here's a site that carries the replacement logic boards.
