MacBook Pro Mid 2012 Keeps freezing

Hello guys,

I recently encountered a problem with my MacBook Pro Mid 2012.

I used for a long period a SSD (Kingston SSDNow UV400 240 GB). I had no problems until some days ago when the system froze up suddenly.

I only use the my system for Facebook, YouTube, watching movies, no hard use at all.

I restarted the device, I opened the case to see if it’s the ribbon, but it looks clean and well fixed. I also updated the MacOS to last version of Mojave.

The weird thing is that this problem appeared suddenly. Can you please guide me to solve this issue?

Have a nice day!

Update (02/12/2019)

I have to mention, the single change that i did was installing Hearthstone and SC 2 from their launcher. I ve also uninstalled those apps thinking that was the thing that caused the freeze but no success.

Start up in Safe Mode by holding down the Shift key on start up and see if the problem persists. If it’s gone, then you have a software issue. If it’s back, I would suspect the hard drive/IR cable (it gets damaged by coming in contact with the bottom cover. If so, I will post a photo of how to prevent that.

hi, i am having the same problem…the macbook hardware check is not finding any malfunction. I’ve changed the HDD with a SSD, changed the cable that connects the mother board with the SSD(as i know that in the past i had twice the problem with the cable). After all this changes…still have the problem of freezing when moved..not all the time…but still happening. Can it be a fault with the battery?? Please help me:(
