Why have you changed your phones battery?

number of possibilities

1 the battery you have bought might be dead and needed activation or faulty battery

2 tristar(u2 or charging ic) might be faulty and won’t charge up dead battery, in this case try to use charges battery and see if it works. If you have tools you can Test you tristar.

or activate the battery with battery activator or power supply.

I changed the battery because it was no longer holding a charge.

I've only just finished doing it and something is happening in it because it has vibrated and seems to be taking photos. I now think that it's the screen that's dead as the screen is not coming on and I got no apple logo when I tried to do a hard reset.

Have you removed the screen while forcing removal of the battery

I did remove the screen following the direction on here

I was as careful as I possibly could be getting the battery out but it was very difficult

if you did remove the screen before removing the battery. It might be ok

Just remove the screen again and clean the connectors and put it back making sure all the connectors are connected properly and not been damaged( don’t forget to disconnect battery )
