SSD problems why did it fail and why replacement not working

Have a MacBook Air 2017 with SSD failing 1 month after warranty expired.

Purchased JetDrive 850 but not recognized by my MacBook Air!

Take it into Apple with the original drive put back in it and ask for a “Warranty Exception” from the manager.

But first request the ability to purchase AppleCare Extended Warranty. You were unable to because ………..

Are you able to get into recovery with your original SSD?

ensure the drive is securely attached and create a bootable USB with OSX on it. On boot hold down the option button until the drive is listed. re install the OS and you should be good. if this does not work the drive may be a dud.
