Try connecting the phone to wifi to resynchronize the date and time to current. Disconnecting the battery resets the date and time.
If date and time isn't set automatically then it'll need to be turned on at settings > general > date/time.
Then turn airplane mode on and off this usually fixes it if not turn phone on and on.
