screen goes from normal and then faded into grey

I had dropped my phone from about 3 feet and it landed on tile floor (at school) screen first and made a loud slap noise, so I picked it up and then turned it on and I see that my screen goes from normal and then faded into grey like when you turn your brightness down. HELP!!
