Why doesn't it show the battery symbol on MacBook Pro

So my problems are: It won’t show batter symbol when I log in but it does in the log in menu but it has a x in the middle. Whenever I unplug the charger it just shuts down. SMC doesn’t work. Please help.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Make sure you use the orginal Apple charger and the USB-C cable. I do strongly recommend you get a Power Meter for Type C Devices so you can monitor whats happening.

Sadly, your logic board likely needs repairs or replacement depending on what happened. Did you have a liquid spill or bang your system damaging the bottom cover?

Are you able to repair your own system?

Alrighty, I do have the original charger and I even got a new one (spare). And I did damage the bottom cover as it has scratches and dents, but it was many months ago. Does all the problems start coming long after it got dent? I guess I have to go to the genius bar?

Also when I first noticed the problem, the battery showed but it was stuck at 15% and would die if I unplugged it but after doing a smc reset (i think) it didn't show the battery anymore, and that is where I'm now. Is that supposed to happen?
