Display broken, Restore fails
History • Edit • Delete • Add Comment
Hi,
I felt down on my iPhone 3G and it switched off. The display has a small spot under the glass, which looks malformed and shows rainbow colors -- at a very close look.
After the boot process, the screen shows weird white and grey lines and flickers.
After connecting it to the MacBook, iTunes asks me to restore it. However, the restore process fails with an unkown error (1604). It tried it serveral times.
Should I order a new lcd and digitizer unit from ifixit, or should I put my iPhone into the bin?
Best,
Foobaer
