1,83 ghz - how much ram can I have?

There is another thread about the question of how much ram you can add to this a1181-mac-model but it doesn't answer the question how much i can add in a a1181-model that has a 1,83 ghz processor.

So how much can i add? i want to have as much as possible.

There are 2 models of the MacBook 1.83GHz. One was the Core Duo which has a limit of 2GB of Ram, http://www.everymac.com/systems/apple/ma.... The other, as Mayer mentioned, is a Core 2 Duo and has a max of 4GB of RAM. If you are not sure which processor you have you can go here and enter the last 3 characters of your serial number to look up which specific model you have.You can find your serial number in the battery compartment.

It can hold 4GB, but cannot utilize more the 3GB.
