Home button not working after dock connector repalcement

I have just replaced the dock connector (and this corrected the problem of impossible shutdown of the phone) but now the home button is no longer functional. I am pretty sure it worked before. Any clue or suggested investigation before I commit to the difficulties of replacing the home button and/or home button flex circuit ?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Thanks. I understand you mean the tiny ZIF connector that in in fact part of the dock connector assembly, and connects to the end of the home button flat cable. I suspected a problem here, reconnected the ZIF connector, but this did not help. I am going to try again, investigating the ZIF connector functionality more deeply, and if not, I guess I will have to consider replacing the home button flex circuit, which seems to be complicated and bears additional risks… On another phone, I have successfully replaced the power button circuitry, and made the button operational again, but now the upper loudspeaker does not speak… Correcting a problem often leads to creating another, just as is the case in the replacement of the dock connector assembly.

Check the small flex cable connector of the home button, that is connected to the dock connector flex cable you replaced.

Make sure it is secured in the connector.
