Why is my K800i showing ' serious error ' on the screen?

Greetings.

I'm having issues with my k800i these recent days. I was answering a call when all of a sudden this weird message popped up on the screen "SERIOUS ERROR. STOP CHARGING. STOP USING YOUR VIDEOPHONE AND CONTACT A SONY ERICSSON CALL CENTER". From then I cannot use the phone at all. I don't know if it is a software or hardware fault. I do not know what to do. Any help will be very welcoming.

Thank you very much in advance.

From what I gather it is basically the software problem so better update your phone from the sony software update center. Get the

software update for your phone www.sonyericsson.com/update to rule out software issues. I also read that some people got it accomplished by getting a new battery. It could be the battery,(clean battery contacts or better get a new one),if that does not help, it could be the battery connector on the pcb,(check for microtears, loose or corroded joints, you may consider to resolder or reflow). Hope that this is at least a start for you to get your phone back. This is where you can get all kinds of service manuals and schematics for your phone. Good Luck

Hi.

Thank you very much for responding oldturkey03. You're a life saver. I was doughting it was the baterry as (often) all of a sudden, it's temperature rised ( became very hot ) and discharged. For sure I'm going to consider your advise and hopefully get the phone good and running. I'll keep you posted.

Thank you very much,

Tman.
