I want to update to 16 GB.

Mac Mini 2018 8 gb comes with 2 x 4GB memory modules.

I want to update to 16 GB. Is better 2 x 8GB single rank or 1 x 16GB dual rank or is it the same?

Check under the Apple to about this Mac > memory and see what is actually installed. I should be just one 8 GB
