Why is the first black film not coming out

I put a new batteries to my instax mini 8 , and put new film but the orange lights continue. Once I took a pic the first film of the new film didn’t come out. The orange lights continue to flash

It sounds like a hardware issue. If you can try another battery and film please do. Just so we can know if its a real hardware issue. Also have you used it recently before you put in the film?
