Why is no image being shown?

I recently purchased adapters to allow my projector to connect to my MacBook Pro. Sound is being heard from the projector but no image is being shown. There is a bright light coming from inside the projector and the fan is being sounded (loudly) as well. How might I be able to have an image shown? Thanks!

Hi Theo,

Does the projector work with other devices? If so, the adapters are probably at fault. Do you know what connectors you are converting from? If not, post a picture and we can help.
