iPod Classic charging port broken 5 VDC pin

Hi all,

I broke a pin in my iPods 30 pin port. I know it is very difficult to open the housing and replace the charging dock. So I went on the internet and did some research. All 30 pins are for ‘something’. Pin 23 on the dock is for the power 5VDC. This one is completely broken (felt out). Is it possible that I charge the iPod by using the FireWire pins (19,20,29,30)?

Hope someone could help me.

Thanks in advance!

It’s better you replace the USB port itself. Here’s the link you can get it from here. http://s.click.aliexpress.com/e/ckNpHqyY
