MacBook Pro keeps shutting down on start up.
There are a lot of similar questions out there but I have not been able to find a good answer…
On start up, 10-15 seconds after I hear the chime my MacBook Pro shuts down. I’ve removed the bottom case and observed the following:
- A ton of dust which I removed; No help.
- Both fans kick in on start up but then everything shuts down.
This is both with battery and power adapter.
- I removed the battery and tried with just power adapter; same thing.
- I had upgraded the RAM several years ago so I swapped out the newer RAM and installed the original RAM; still the same thing.
I’m suspecting the logic board… Unless there is something else I can try.
I was thinking that if I have to replace the logic board to upgrade from a 2.66 to a 3.06 GHz (from what I’ve been able to gather this can be done.
I’m also thinking of upgrading the Hard Drive (or hybrid) to a larger capacity or go with a SSD drive.
Is this a good question?

With everything reconnected what is the color of the MagSafe connecter Amber or Green? Locate the battery checker button on the left edge when you press it do all the LED's light up and do they stay on or blink?

The LED connector is green when first hooked up but turns red (amber) if the battery is not fully charged. When I press the battery checker button the green LEDs light up and stay on except if the battery need charging then as the battery charges each green LED blinks in turn and stays steady on as the battery fills up.
