repaired smashed screen, now bottom wont respond to touch

I dropped my 3g and smashed the glass at the bottom. After this the phone stopped responding to any touch so couldnt even slide to unlock. So i bought a new digitizer from ebay and fitted it.

Now the bottom part of the screen will not respond. i can just grab the top of the slide arrow to unlock. I have restored it and still no change.

any ideas whats wrong?

Try checking the connection to the digitizer. If that doesn't solve your problem, then you probably have a faulty digitizer. You should try to contact the seller, and return it.
