Output signal problems after replaced HDMI
Good day to everyone!
I got my hands on a PS4 which had its HDMI connector butchered. The connector pins were torn out of the housing of the port, so it wasn’t hard to find its problem, why it didn’t give any output.
Nevertheless, replaced the port and it’s supposed to work fine, (measured the pins connection etc.) Although after reassembly the console turns on, but the output signal is dropping weirdly. Sometimes it works for about 10 seconds or so, then starts dropping signal over again. Also, some kind of static noise, without sound is visible for split seconds sometimes.
Also could someone explain me what the heatsink clamps are for?
When I loosen the screws the cooling fan bursts to a higher RPM, could this be an overheating issue? I never see any warnings for overheating, and the problem persists even if I just turned on the console.
After I messed around with it, I could play long minutes even, although the problem doesn’t seem to stop completely. Last time I had no picture but sound
I’d appreciate any help, and thanks for reading!
Update (02/22/2019)
Hey everyone and @soft_solutions as well!
Is there any way to know what kind of diodes are on the board near the HDMI?
I may have some stuff laying around which I could use for replacement, and I’m thinking of ordering the HDMI chip as well.
I’d much appreciate any help!
Is this a good question?
