scrws broke out the casing holding the hinges

I need a repair manual to replace the hinges. Somehow the screws under the rubber feet on the left no longer hold, plastic particles have broken out. Tighten the screw, now it is no longer pure and there are plastic parts eroded. When I open the laptop, the case gapes, what can I do? Do I have to swap the hinge or possibly parts of the housing? Which parts do I have to disassemble to get to the hinge? Please post the instructions for removing the necessary parts.

Hi @cyppo ,

Here’s a link to the service manual for your laptop, taken from this webpage

Scroll to p.72 to view the necessary pre-requisite steps and then the procedure to remove the hinges and top cover (also known as the palmrest).

On p.21, item #2, you’ll find the part number(s) for the top cover.

Search online by typing the part number only (appropriate to your particular model variant), in the search box of your browser to get results for suppliers of the part

You will need to replace the entire palm rest. I tried doing a quick search and could only find parts for the HP Envy 15, so you will have to look around a bit more. Make sure you get the 17.3” model.
