put in new hard drive computer works find put the fans are not responding to the head. I am using istat pro and the fans are running at 1999 RPM. My 2.2 GHz macbook has been on for about 3 hours
I have open a web browser word mail itunes parallels and running XP this usually will cause the fan to seed up they have been open for about 3 hrs

Try resetting the PMU. This resets a lot of power-related functions and I've seen it put an end to erratic fan activity.

they don't tend to speed up until you start pushing the CPU and gpu, along with other components. if it gets very hot and the fans stay the same then you might have messed something up, otherwise just typing or searching the web won't heat it up too bad
