Why my new battery is not at 100 percent health?

Purchased a replacement battery so I can sell my laptop stating that it has a new battery with 100 percent health (my old one was at 85 percent). I installed it and it said it was at 101 percent (excellent) but after the calibration the best I got was 83.4 percent using coconut battery. I did another two calibrations…reset the SMC and pram with no luck. Any ideas why?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Batteries are like women. Some days they give you 101% and the next 83%, you just have to learn to live with them.

Try Coconut battery to get a better insight into your particular one (they are not all the same).

The battery only showed 101 percent on the install test and after the calibration it has just stayed at 83 percent. I also noticed that coconut batteries remaining percentage goes down faster than what my laptop states. I've been trying to reach out to iFixit without any luck.
