Computer turns on, but screen is black. What is wrong?

My laptop turns on, but I cannot see anything on the screen. I turned the brightness all the way up, but am unable to see anything.

Did replacing the logic board help? I have the same issue on my Mac Book Pro.

Probably the infamous logic board problem. To confirm if possible hook up a external monitor. If you have video then the problem is most likely the LCD. No video you are most likely looking at a bad logic board. Sometimes you can get some use by putting a spacer under the video chip but it doesn't usually last for long. Ralph
