Battery Doesn't Calibrate After Replacement

As in the title, this doesn’t seem to work, according to coconutBattery the full charge capacity is 4752mAh, and the design capacity is @ 72% of 6600mAh. BUT it lasts for hours from 7% charge, goes down pretty quickly before that however.

I’ve tried:

  • Charge until full, then 2hrs more, then completely deplete and leave for at least 5hrs in sleep mode. Then recharge to full - which I left charging for over 12hrs. No change
  • After this I reset the SMC and tried the same procedure, still no change in it.

Any possible solutions ? Could be a faulty SMC perhaps ? I did see some sticky gunk inside when changing the battery, looks like something was probably spilt on it at some point..

Not good ;-{ Your charging logic has a problem on the main logic board or the DC-In board.

If you look at your captures you’ll see the ‘Charging with’ line is showing charging when the MagSafe adapter is disconnected! For reference here’s my MacBook Pro’s:

As you can see mine is reporting a discharging condition.

Hrmm, maybe I screenshotted too quickly, looking at it now it says 'Discharging with.. I'll add another screenshot to the question.

Who’s battery is this?

I bought the pack from iFixit, so it's their battery I guess

You'll need to get a replacement from the IFIXIT Store
