MacBook Pro Touchbar no backlight on new screen

Hey Gang!

Wondering if you guys have any ideas on how I can get this sorted out.

Here in the office, one of the MacBook Pro 13’’ Touch Bar has a small amount of liquid damage according to Apple and that’s why the backlight wont work. Apple actually replaced the screen on this laptop anyway under the quality program but the issue persists.

System works fine with an external display and if a flashlight is held against the laptops screen one can see the desktop images.

Wondering if there are any simple repairs one can do, or if there is someone in the UK that does logic board repairs just like Louis Rossmann?

Thanking you in advance,

rafa

I’m thinking they didn’t fix the issue. This series has a known issue with the displays ribbon cables. If you slowly raise or close the lid around 45 degree’s the display will wink on or off. The ribbon cables are part of the lid assembly and can’t be replaced. Here’s a good view of the connections:

I would go back to have the display assembly replaced again (under the repair warranty). The only other possibility is a defective Hall sensor which is part of the logic board on the backside
