After looking it over carefully i figured out that the two little chips circled are broke off and the yellow line in the top left corner is cracked just like i drew so the top green layer is pulled up. What are the two chips for? and is one of these damages whats causing the board not to work?

thas ok man the two little chips that are broke on mine are different from this. Here is the same pic from that link but i circled in yellow whats broke on mine

looks like C248 and C250 on the layout. Check for those numbers on the schematic, It will give you the value for those condensers. I am sure you could get those at mouser or digikey. Once your know the value check on the smd components at those sites. Good Luck

Component damage is almost certainly why it does not work
The smaller "chips" are surface mount capacitors or resistors.
The damage to top left sounds like the connector may have been partly pulled from the circuit board from your description.
I'd suggest that this is terminal unless you are very skilled with pcb rework and smd soldering

jared, you can buy the very small capacitors..they're common to lots of different gadgets etc. they are I think part of the charging circuit etc, others are part of noise reduction...basically whatever function is on the dock will be linked to these fuses.. if you can't charge/speakers/mic/home button function not working then these would be your culprits. a user on here called jamesbond has posted his solution to the same capacitor problem.
If you had success with your backlight coil then you've nothing to lose in trying this as your next challenge..

its hard to say actually with that picture i showed above because its different from mine this board is exactly the same and it shows the exact two that are broke on mine what are these?

actually nevermind oldturkey its the same ones you were right thank you. now how do i find these exact chips on digikey

What you can do is take a look at the schematic I linked to earlier. Find the C248 and C250 The schematic will have the value of the capacitors. With that information, take a look at mouser.com or digikey.com and look for the SMD capacitors... It is tedious to find it on the schematic, so don't get to frustrated...;-)

ok i think i found em there right next to each other and they read 27pF in red below them. Do you know how big the case size is of them?
