Mid 2012 MacBook Air 11” Trackpad Foam

The trackpad in my MacBook Air is lose. There is a small piece of foam that pushes the trackpad flush against its housing. This tiny piece of foam has flattened over time and needs to be replaced. I can’t for the life of me figure out what that foam would be called or where to buy more.

I circled the place where it goes in red. The picture is of the underside of a MacBook Air with the trackpad removed, the black is the computer’s screen.

The function of the foam is to cushion the metal to metal contact between the trackpad and the housing when you release the trackpad after clicking it. While not foam I find a piece of black twill cloth will work using some mounting spray to hold the pieces in place.
