The Chevrolet Silverado, and its mechanically identical cousin, the GMC Sierra, is a series of full-size and heavy-duty pickup trucks manufactured by General Motors and introduced in 1999 as the successor to the long-running Chevrolet C/K line. The Silverado name was taken from a trim level previously used on the C/K pickup truck from 1975 through 1998.

I have a 1998 GMC K1500 5.7. I bought it from a guy. He said it die on

It died on him pulling in to MC Donald’s. Some where down that line. A mounting bolt was broken on the distributor hold down. I have replaced the distributor with a new one. I know it is installed correctly. The truck did start and run. Like crap. So new plugs and wires where then installed. AC double platinum plugs. It runs better not. But not well enough to drive. The ideal is very low to extremely high. We unplugged the mass sensor and it ran really good. But it was idling at 3200 rpms. Any help is very much appreciated. Thanks in advance Kenneth.

How many degrees of timing are in the truck You may have installed it correctly but did you set the timing after the install . This video shows how. This cannot be done with a timing light it has to be done with a computer . Also check the vacuum lines are all connected . Hope this helps

Thank you so much for your quick response. I do not have access to a computer and software setup like this. What would be you best advice for my next step ?

You will need to have it set if you want it to run right so if you dont have access find someone who does either a dealer or a mechanic you trust .

I was wondering if you would know the correct AC delco puel pump only that would fit this truck. The pump motor only ? Thanks so muck for your help.

Fuel pump motor only. AC delco.
