Battery not charging at all - LED allways green, sometimes orange

The MagSafe is OK because I have already tested on other Macbooks, however everytime a plug it on my computer the led glows green (sometimes orange) and it doesn't charge at all, so i cant turn the machine on.

Also, the ear plug jack was not working at all before that. Is this now a Logic Board issue or do I have other options?

Hi, please tell us more. Does this power on, boot etc... With the changing of the LED indicators lights you mention is there a change of the battery being installed?

First we need to know which Book you have. Please give the last three figures of you serial number (found in the battery compartment). Remove the battery and the AC adapter and press the power button for 10 seconds. Now attach the AC adapter and press the start button (battery out) and let us know your results

"Remove the battery and the AC adapter and press the power button for 10 seconds. Now attach the AC adapter and press the start button (battery out)" looks like an element to me.....;-)

Resetting the SMC on portables with a battery you should not remove on your own

Note: Portable computers that have a battery you should not remove on your own include MacBook Pro (Early 2009) and later, all models of MacBook Air, and MacBook (Late 2009).

1. Shut down the computer.

2. Plug in the MagSafe power adapter to a power source, connecting it to the Mac if its not already connected.

3. On the built-in keyboard, press the (left side) Shift-Control-Option keys and the power button at the same time.

4. Release all the keys and the power button at the same time.

5. Press the power button to turn on the computer.

Note: The LED on the MagSafe power adapter may change states or temporarily turn off when you reset the SMC.

Yes Mayer I do know how to do an SMC reset on the different variations on Apple products, including this one. According to you this is a late 2009. What you have asked them to do is not an SMC reset for this machine. http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3964

Well Cellars, just how am I supposed to know that if I can't ask which machine they have without getting a downvote from you?

play nicely boys or you'll have to go on the naughty step... :-)

Not so bad Mayer, you're getting 4 up votes for a wrong answer so you should not be worried about ABCellars down vote. If it was me I would delete my answer. Also rj713, why did you up vote two times this answer ? I'm with ABCellars on this one.
