Can anyone please help me identify the component in the picture?
My board is missing this component and the backlight is dark. I hope this is the problem!
Is this a good question?

J.R. Asprelli that is reference designator L9100 which is a 250ohm ferrite bead. You can get the package size by measuring the distance from one point to the other.
Yes, you will need this to get your display to work. There should only be 12 Volt on that rail, so make sure you have no short anywhere else.

The device is always listed to the right of the question. in this case, the device is a iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2544 (iMac Intel 21.5" EMC 2544)

ok, i now have the boardview but now need to know what part of the board i need to look at. Please send a picture of the board and circle what part you are looking for.

ok, after doing some final looking. i have determined that the missing part you are describing is a 250 ohm resistor named as L9100 on the schematics and boardview

Cwoodyard a designator starting with "L" is never a resistor. Inductors carry the "L" descriptor.
