a1211 blank screen even after replacing the whole screen assemlby

Hi,

My Macbook pro a1211 had a blank screen after turned on. I have been able to use an external monitor so I don't think the logic board is the problem. I tried to replace the inverter cable but it did not help so I bought a whole screen assembly online (a working one). However, even after the whole screen assembly is replaced, the screen is still not working.

I am not sure what to do now...

Options

If you can see the desktop with a flashlight held at an angle, the problem is with the inverter of inverter cables. Did you replace the display data cable with the screen. Very few people on eBay will tell you that the screen they sold you didn't work. Where did you get yours?

Since you can see the desktop and the inverter or inverter cables are the most likely problem. iFixits part may sometimes be higher but I don't have to send them back: MacBook Pro 15" (Models A1150/A1211) Display Inverter

Thanks for your reply... Yes, I can see the desktop with a flashlight. However, as I mentioned in the original post, I did replace the inverter board but it did not work. You are right that I did get mine from Ebay. Do you think I should try to change the inverter cables ?
