Can someone tell me how to repair iPhone 3G black screen?

Received an Iphone3g from my friend and it was stuck at a black screen.

1. I notice there are 2 screws missing at the charging dock, and I proceed to pop the screen off to check connectors.

2. Once inside I see 2 screws missing from the logic board but it still shouldn't effect the screen.

3. Reseated # 1.2.3.4 closed the phone up.

4. I used Sn0wbreeze to create a custom ipsw and successfully restored the phone to 4.2.1 and once it was done itunes said I needed a sim to activate? Really? I thought it was hacktivated when jailbroken?

Fix for black screen. Hard Reset-hold together Home and Power buttons for about 15 seconds until iPhone turns off on own and then turns on. If that does not work the try to Reseat LCD Flex Cable #1 again, it can come off very easily right before you close up the iPhone. If that does not work. Then, you already restored the iPhone, so the next step would be to replace the LCD. If that does not work your Logic Board is bad.

Regarding activation when you create the Custom Firmware you must tell the software that you do not have Carrier SIM and to Activate it.
