Why is my screen tinted red

Hello!

So recently my screen goes in and out of a ‘red tint’ - (see the attached pictures).

There is no real pattern for this happening, it seems to be random. The way to fix it is to typically quit some applications, some times a ‘sudo purge’ in terminal does the trick, or put to sleep for a few minutes. I’m going to take it apart and have a dust, just a clean up as it seems to be running a little hot (just moved to Australia, so maybe its related?).

Anyway I’m not too sure what is going on. If anyone has any explanation and/or help that would be great. (I cant seem to find a similar problem posted online).

It’s hard to tell without testing as it might be also related to the screen or the connecting cable but colour alterations are more often related to graphic card issues. If it’s never been done before and it’s running hot, overheating might be putting some strain and explain the glitch.. an inside cleanup would be a great idea.

I did a scan on ClamXav, found some small virus located in my mail folder from spam. Deleted it and its been fine for the last six hours or so. Fingers crossed its over!
