Directional pad up button sticks easily

Hi there. I'm having a slight issue with my PSP - the up button on my dpad sticks if it's pressed with enough force. It sticks for about 3 seconds or so before letting go.

I tried listening to see if I could hear a clicking sound of something sticking, but, I didn't hear anything. I disassembled the PSP following a guide, cleaned the contact points and everything, but the sticking still occurs.

Any ideas?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Okay so I took another look at the PSP, and just noticed something: the conductive pad position for the up arrow has a slight circular dent in it.. could this be a problem?

Could be that the Button is making suction with the pad.

I was thinking that as well, but, I cleaned out and tested the buttons outside of the PSP and there didn't seem to be an issue with that. I'm looking at a picture of the left button contact cable (Sony PSP 2000 Left Button Contact Cable), see the area just above the large open circle at the bottom, where the up arrow is? There's a circular-shaped indent there, but not in the other three buttons.

I'm thinking that when the button is pressed hard enough the dent is pressing down or something onto something underneath it and causing it to think it's still being pressed. Also, if it was suction, the button itself would remain stuck, but the button lifts back up (sorry, forgot to mention that).

This is a weird one. Possible causes could be moisture on the D-Pad itself and not the contact cable. D-Pad could be dirty (but you cleaned it), I dont own a psp, but I did fix my nephew's psp and I did notice the dents, try turning the D-Pad Clockwise or counter clock wise while its open to see if it does the same thing with the contact button cable. (I am not good at describing whats in my head so if you need more clarification just say so)

I don't see moisture being an issue; if I knew when it started it might of helped, but, I only noticed it after my analog stick started to malfunction (which I'm in the process of replacing) and had to resort to using the dpad for Warriors Orochi, and with the way that game is played I tend to place a lot of pressure on the up arrow, hence how I noticed this issue.

I have to break open my PSP again to clean the screen, I'll post a few pictures of what I mean by this "dent", maybe that will help?
