Power steering pump coolant

Power steering pump coolant lines leaking,shop I took it to says lines are rusted in gearbox and probably never come out so gearbox will have to be replaced as well as lines.very expensive and he didn't even want the job!Said it was to rusted underneath truck and if it were him he would just get rid of it.
