My Instax Mini 90 photos have these weird purple dots

So I’ve recently got an Instax Mini 90 Neo Classic and I got it in a pack (which had the camera straps and 3 packs of 10 of film). I used the film and I took a photo and it printed out with these purple dots.

I’ve cleaned the lens and the two holes near the lens (I forgot what those are called). I took another photo yet it still had the purple dots.

I don’t know if it is the film causing the problem or the actual camera itself. If anyone has been through this problem before and knows how to fix it or has an answer, please tell me.

Answer this question I have this problem too

Is this a good question?

Some of the chemical used in film may have leaked out and gotten on your rollers. You can simply use a little bit of cotton or a Qtip and go over them with some rubbing alcohol.

Thank you! But, does an Instax Mini 90 have rollers that I could clean? Because I can’t see them :(

It might be inside the cartridge on this model. I can’t find a reference image or video showing the exact location. If there is a roller in the camera, it will be behind the slot that delivers the photos. Clean that slot, also.

If that doesn’t work, have you tried a different cartridge in it? It is possible the issue is still some of the developer has leaked, but is being applied to the photos upon removal from the cartridge. Also possible is that the roller marks are from a machine in the factory which loaded the sheets into the cartridge (defective cartridge).

You probably have some kind of substance on the camera rollers. The dots are caused by contamination making a "bump" on one of the rollers which is pinching the film everytime the roller rotates - like a lentil stuck on a rolling pin. You'll need to clean the rollers, preferably with Isopropyl alcohol on a cotton bud.
