Why my iPhone wont turn on and keeps showing 'no battery' logo?

I have an iPhone SE. The only issue it's had is that the battery life wasn't so great as it once was... until now.

Earlier the battery went flat and it switched to this screen.

Totally normal.

So I plugged it into a portable USB battery that I use in situations like this. But after 30 minutes it still didn't turn on. Then I tried it through the original mains plug and 12 hours later it still didn't turn on. Then I plugged it in via a computer's USB port and 8 more hours it still won't turn on.

Now it's been 72 hours and probably 48 of those plugged into power without turning on.

Unlike many others who have asked this or similar questions, my iPhone isn’t damaged.

  • I've tried holding the power button.
  • I've tried holding the power button and home button - for 10 seconds.
  • I've tried charging it with different cables.
  • I've tried charging it with different power sources.
  • I've tried plugging it into a computer running iTunes.

How do I get my iPhone running again? Help me. I need to back up my photos.

Are you able to get the low battery screen without the white cable prompt when you plug a charger in?

If not I suggest try cleaning the charger port if the charging cable tip does not sit fully in (flush) with the iPhone frame which it should be. Fine tweezers should do the job for cleaning it. Just be careful of the charger port pins located at the bottom part of the charging port.

If that still does not work or it is found to be fairly clean then I would say either the charging port needs to be replaced or worst case the charging chip needs to be replaced by a reputable repair shop that does board-repairs for iPhones.

Looks like your battery said: “F that, I’m outta here”. And decided to stop to store any sort of energy required. Fix? Get a new one and change the battery. Luckily, it’s like 5S, so it’s almost as easy as building a computer yourself. Especially when there’s guides on how to do in. Right on iFixIt site: iPhone SE Battery Replacement
