I replaced my lighting connector now the touch id doesn't work.

I just installed a new lightning connector and the install went very smoothly. Now I have no issues with charging the phone but now the touch sensor doesn’t work. It pops up when I turn the phone on and states “Touch Id is unavailable on this phone”. Anyone have this happen before?

Answer this question I have this problem too

There’s a good chance you accidentally ripped the home button flex by accident, which can lead to this issue. Other causes would be damaging the home button itself, or not having it seated correctly. I’d take a magnifying glass and look over the flex cable to see if you can spot any micro-tears. Good luck!

Is this the flex that is attached to the home button itself or one of the ribbons on the side of the screen?

Check all of them if you're unable to find any damage on the one attached to the home button. I am unfortunately not sure which one of the screen-to-device ribbons it runs through, but it has to be one of them. Sorry I can't be of more help!

You are right about ripping the flex, when I try to repair my iphone I did this mistake.

You realize that t repair that cable you have to be a extremely experienced micrsoldering technician with great skills. There are at least 10 wires in the cable and they are smaller than a human hair. You also will need quite a bit of expensive equipment.
