iPhone 6 plus not turning on after screen replacement

Hello, I have an iPhone 6 Plus that I replaced the display on a couple months ago. It came back with having no touch response most of the time, so I told him we would replace the screen again. Upon replacing the screen again, the phone does not turn on now. If it is plugged in, it might flicker on here and there, but it is only for a split second before powering down again. iTunes does recognize the phone, but it gives me error 9 while trying to update or restore.

Upon thinking further, I believe the original issue could have been touch disease, but I’m not sure what is happing currently. Any help or suggestions would be awesome. Thanks!

For further details, when doing the replacement, I disconnected the battery first, and then took display cables off. I used a plastic pick tool, not anything metal. So the chance of causing a short during the replacement is slim.

Have you tried connecting the customers previous screen…or better yet, a known-good or Apple original screen (even if it is cracked)? The phone failure could be caused by a defective replacement screen. Otherwise, it could just be a coincidental issue due to poor traces cracking under multiple flexure of the device over time.

I agree, this was probably Touch Disease from the get-go but Error 9 is a much more serious error and if it is logic board related, would likely be caused by damaged traces between the CPU and EEPROM. This would not be entirely surprising with a 6 Plus as it has a really poor logic board design.
