Does my Hard Drive need to be replaced?

NOTE: When verifying disk permissions i get this message;

PERMISSIONS DIFFER ON: "usr/share/derby' should be drwxr-x they are lrwxr-x

then the other message states:

WARNING: SUID file "System/Library/CoreS....as been modified and will not be repaired.

What do these messages mean? I get these messages when trying to repair permissions. Otherwise the disk has been verified and is ok. What does this error and warning message mean?

Per this discussion, people (and supposedly also Apple) seem to think that the drive is fine and these errors should be ignored:

Thanx rdk, I only checked the permissions because i couldnt create a partition via bootcamp. It gave an error stating that i needed to format my disk as a single MacOS extended (journaled), but when i check disk utility it says the drive is already formatted this way.

I also see that people that are trying to clone their drives are getting the same error message that i get when trying to create a partition, and that is that some of the files cant be transferred. coincidentally they"re getting the same error messages.
